Cusco

What a view. One of our tour guides, Marylous, informed us that millions of years ago Cusco was a gigantic lake. From this view it is easy to see how huge the lake must have been. Because Cusco is in an ancient lake, the city is full of extremely furtile soil. This is evident in all the wild flowers that grow, along with the fact that Cusco, and the whole of Peru, have 2,000 varieties of potatoes. It is interesting to think what kind of prehistoric life once swam in the area that is today Cusco.
